This forum was smart, literate, and full of...
the absolute funniest people I had ever met(?) when I first started reading it, nearly six months before I posted my first post (rather timidly, too, I might add, because I respected the posters for their levels of intelligence, which, if you think about it, is really difficult to 'fake'). Additionally, the 'regulars' were gay women, generally, like me, and it was just a pure joy to know that I could talk to these people/women any time, any place, and have real conversations about things that mattered to us all, without taking a beat down by posters who had no real reason for being here except to antagonize 'the lesbos.' I believe anonimity has its place, but perhaps not here, not anymore, because this is a /lesbian forum and, in my opinion, if you come in here and you are not for us, you're against us. We should at least be able to distinguish those against us by reviewing their posting histories before we get caught up wasting time neg-rating/flagging the antagonistas. The tide of hatred for gays is returning to levels that I remember as a teenager and, over the next two years, it will be stirred as a hot-button issue with the ruling parties of this country, as it is now for the various religions of the world. Sorry, greys, but 'anonimity' is just not an option when our own neighbors could turn against us (and, truly, I am not being overly dramatic--people will, once again, believe it is okay to scream curse words at you, throw trash at you, and, in some cases, physiy beat you, as happened before any of that type of harassment became a crime). And, by the way, anonimity is not achieved by greyness when your internet history and possibly your keystroke history is available to anyone with access to your computer; if you are doing this at work and shouldn't, well then, catch up on your own time on your own machine--just be sure to login first. (jumping off misnxmer's soapbox) Have a lovely day, all... bullydawg
